The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Alabama invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning August 2023. The applicant must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a related field by August 2023. Teaching responsibilities will include beginning to advanced level undergraduate mathematics courses as well as online graduate mathematics courses. The regular teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching; develop a strong research portfolio, which includes ongoing scholarly work with potential involvement with undergraduate or graduate students; be willing to take an active role in curriculum development and program assessment; be knowledgeable of current trends in math education including the use of instructional technology to enhance students’ learning; be committed to the engagement and recruitment of students; and be willing to work as a collegial team member as well as a community resource when appropriate. Other expectations include serving on departmental and University committees. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. The University of North Alabama Department of Mathematics offers BA, BS, and MS degrees in Mathematics. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.

The successful applicant must hold a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a related field by August 2023. ABD candidates will be considered, provided all degree requirements are met by the time of appointment.
