The University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, invites applications for a position of Full professor or assistant professor (tenure track, ending in a full professorship) in mathematics (100%), orientation algebra Job description: The successful candidate will teach various courses in the Bachelors and Masters in Mathematics, as well as in other courses of study. The teaching load is 7 hours/week all year long (4 hours/week for an assistant professor) The candidate is expected to establish an internationally recognized research program in algebra, with a preference for the domains of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. He/she will supervise master’s and doctoral theses and participate in the administrative tasks of the institute and the Faculty. Courses are taught in French or English, requiring a commitment to obtain sufficient fluency in French within one year. Requirements: Applicants must hold a doctorate in mathematics, have an internationally recognized research record in algebra and demonstrate strong teaching skills.
