Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank to join our Mathematics Department. MSOE has a growing program in Actuarial Science in the Mathematics Department. The program is approved by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) to be on their list of Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs – Advanced Curriculum (UCAP-AC).

To be considered, a candidate must either (1) have (or expect to complete by the start of employment) a doctoral degree in actuarial science or a related area such as probability, statistics, risk management, or financial mathematics, or (2) have a master’s degree and relevant professional experience and have or be pursuing an actuarial credential such as Associate or Fellow. Having obtained (or being close to obtaining) the status of Associate of either the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society would be a strong asset. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, show potential for scholarly activities in actuarial science, and direct student research projects. The primary teaching responsibility of the candidate is all actuarial science courses in the curriculum including probability and financial mathematics. The candidate is also expected to teach undergraduate mathematics courses if the need arises.
