The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Heidelberg University invites applications for a Full Professorship (W3) for ‘Pure Mathematics’ (f/m/d) to be filled as soon as possible.

We are looking for an internationally outstanding researcher. Of particular interest are candidates with a research focus on a modern field of algebraic geometry.

The position should complement and extend the research spectrum of the Mathematical Institute. The successful candidate is expected to engage proactively in both existing and novel research projects, as well as collaborations in connection with the excellence initiative of the Heidelberg University, and to take on a supportive role in raising third-party funds. We offer an excellent vibrant scientific environment including, in particular, the opportunity to participate in the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) / Transregio 191 und 326, or the cluster of excellence STRUCTURES.

The prerequisite for the appointment is excellent research performance, documented by outstanding publications.

Participation in academic self-governance and teaching, including basic mathematics courses, is required.

Article 47 of the Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg applies. For appointment to a full professorship (W3), a habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship or a comparable qualification is required.
