The Department of Mathematics is seeking an Assistant Research Professor with exceptional research potential. This is a non-tenure track, limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding. A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required. 

The selected candidate is expected to work with Professor Leonid Berlyand in Interdisciplinary Mathematics with a focus on mathematical biology. Specifically, they will develop mathematical models of individual and collective motion of bacteria in complex biological fluids such as mucus. The candidate is also expected to develop and implement respective computational algorithms and perform numerical simulations. A teaching load may be required.
