Epsilon Camp 2023 is being held from July 9 to July 23 on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Epsilon Camp is seeking mathematicians specializing in providing mathematics activities to students in the age range 7-8. The program aims to introduce campers to a wide variety of deep ideas that they will continue to see throughout their mathematical careers. Sample topics include:

  • Computational mathematics: recurrences for figurate numbers, Fibonacci numbers, generalizations, and binary information encoding.

  • Geometry: polygon angles, plane tilings, polyhedra, and fractals.

  • Counting: permutations and combinations, Pascal's triangle, inclusion-exclusion, and other counting methods.

Applicants should have interest and experience in working with highly gifted children aged 7-8 with exceptional mathematical ability and a love of mathematics. A mathematics degree is required for this position, but it need not be a Ph.D. degree.
