Job requirements

Who are we looking for
To further strengthen and complement our department we are looking for talented researchers in all fundamental and applied areas of mathematics, computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence. We are particularly interested in topics that create synergy with our current research, or that could bridge the research between our clusters and TU/e institutes. As teaching is an essential part of academic tasks, we are searching for candidates who are not only passionate researchers but also motivated and inspiring teachers.

We specifically also invite part-time candidates to apply.

 Your tasks will include:
  • Conduct research using generally accepted methods in your field, together with a team of PhD students and your colleagues in the department.
  • Publishing your work in peer-reviewed outlets.
  • Serving as a responsible lecturer for courses taught in our educational programs and provide educational support to your colleague’s courses.
  • Supervise (groups of) Bachelor, Master and post-Master students doing projects with (or without) industry involvement in your area of expertise.
  • Membership of the various departmental committees that ensure continuous improvement of internal processes, education and research.
As English is the main language at TU/e, proficiency in the English language is a hard requirement. You do not need to speak Dutch. Furthermore, we require experience in scientific research, proven by a PhD in a relevant discipline and by publications in leading international conferences and journals in your area. Some experience as a post-doc is highly recommended.
