Full Professor in Pure Analysis (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) Job description In the research front you will continue to develop your research line alone or in collaboration with other scientists. You will apply for external funds alone or in consortia, supervise Ph.D, MSc and BSc students, and postdocs, and organise relevant scientific meetings at national or international level. In the teaching front, you will teach courses at a variety of levels, ranging from first year undergraduate to advanced Master courses. Master courses are taught either at local level or as part of the national Master programme, Mastermath. You will be involved in the supervision of bachelor and Master theses as well as smaller scale projects. We encourage teaching innovation with available funds via the university to help with good ideas. In the administration front, you will be engaged in the daily life of the Mathematical Institute. You will help shape the future of the department by taking positions of responsibility and leadership within the department, the Faculty of Science and the University. Qualifications

The Mathematical Institute of the Department of Mathematics organises and teaches the Bachelor's curricula in Mathematics as well as the (English-taught) Master's programme in Mathematics and some service teaching in mathematics. The Institute currently comprises about 10 Full Professors, 20 further faculty members, 25 PhD candidates, 10 Postdocs, and teaches 500 students. The Institute is internationally recognised for its research in both pure and applied mathematics. It houses the Utrecht Geometry Centre and maintains a long-standing tradition of transdisciplinary collaboration with other scientific fields including, among others, atmosphere/ocean sciences, computational life sciences, mathematical biology, medical and seismic imaging and theoretical physics.
