The School of Mathematics and Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AI Lab), Harbin Institute of Technology (China), are hiring young talented researchers in Mathematics, Algorithms and Applications of Artificial Intelligence. The AI Lab is a graduate research center for outstanding students to pursue their research on machine learning and related topics. The offered position bridges the School of Mathematics with the AI Lab. The candidate is expected to collaborate with researchers from both institutions.

We hire researchers of different levels. All positions are limited to 6 years with the possibility for promotion / tenure. You are expected to establish your own projects. Actively acquiring third-party funding is highly encouraged and has a positive effect on the salary. The position includes teaching Bachelor and Master level lectures. The salary and starting funding will depend on the individual qualification:

Highly qualified researchers can apply for a part-time position as Chair Professor (1.200.000 RMB/year). On-campus presence is required for two months per year.

The applicant should bring the following qualifications:

PhD in Mathematics or a related subject (graduation within the last 3 years for Assistant Professor),
Research and publication experience in Artificial Intelligence,
2 years of Post-Doc experience (not required for Assistant Professor),
No older than 35 years for Associate Professor and 30 years for Assistant Professor,
No Chinese language skills required.
