Can distributed consensus problems be accelerated with a quantum coprocessor? Can a cryptocurrency be based on shared quantum state instead of proof-of-work? How can we trust quantum computing in the cloud? Explore these and related questions in an AFOSR-sponsored postdoc in the mathematics department at Penn State. New or recent Ph.D.s are sought with exceptional research potential and in some positions with teaching required (for these you should have a commitment to excellence in teaching). These are non-tenure track appointments and are typically for one year (48 weeks). A Ph.D. in mathematics, computer science, or physics is required. Candidates from all areas of mathematics will be considered.
