Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Northern Arizona University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistics at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2018.

Responsibilities include teaching statistics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing an active research program in statistics, and service.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Statistics or Biostatistics completed or expected by August 20, 2018

• Teaching experience at the college level

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed doctorate in Statistics or Biostatistics at the time of application

• Evidence of high-quality teaching

• Strong potential for a productive research program in statistics

• Strong background in applied statistics, especially informatics or applications of “big data” methods

• Strong theoretical statistics background

• Experience and/or commitment to work effectively with NAU’s diverse faculty, staff, and student populations

Salary: $63,000 to $68,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
