The Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy at the California Institute of Technology invites applications for a possible tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. We are especially interested in the following research areas:

• Algebraic Geometry/Number theory
• Analysis/Dynamics
• Combinatorics
• Finite and Algebraic Groups
• Geometry/Topology
• Logic/Set Theory
• Mathematical Physics

but other fields may be considered.

The term of the initial appointment is normally four years for a tenure-track assistant professor (with a possible extension to as much as seven years). Appointment is contingent upon completion of the Ph.D.

Exceptionally well-qualified applicants may also be considered at the associate or full professor level.
