The Department of Mathematics at Case Western Reserve University anticipates several visiting professor (all ranks) and lecturer positions for the Academic Year 2013/2014. Applications are encouraged from any area of pure and applied mathematics. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field by the time of appointment and demonstrated teaching experience. Candidates desiring a visiting appointment should currently hold a faculty position at another college/university and have plans to return the position once their visiting appointment has concluded. Rank for visiting professors will be determined based upon the individual’s rank with their current college/university. The normal teaching load is two courses per semester. Applicants for a lecturer position should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae and arrange for three letters of recommendation, at least one of which specifically addressing teaching and mentoring ability or potential, to be submitted directly. A statement of teaching and mentoring philosophy and experience and evidence of excellence should be included as part of the application. Applicants for a visiting professor (all ranks) position should submit all of the above and a statement of current and future research plans.
