The Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) invites applications for one or more positions beginning the Fall 2018 Semester. The position can be a full time lecturer or a postdoctoral fellow. Teaching excellence is expected for the position. Salary and rank will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The responsibilities of the full-time lecturers will include: teaching undergraduate mathematics service courses and working closely with the Learning Resource Center in the Department of Mathematics. The minimum qualifications for lecturers are an earned MS or MA in mathematics, statistics, or related areas. While outstanding applicants from all mathematical areas will be considered, preference for the position will be given to those with significant experience in or strong commitment to undergraduate mathematics teaching, student engagement and mentoring. Lecturer appointments are renewable annually.

The responsibilities of the postdoctoral fellow include both teaching and research. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to collaborate in research with one or more of the department's tenure-stream faculty as mentors. The postdoctoral fellow appointment is for up to two years. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service.

It serves more than 10,000 students annually and features nationally recognized faculty with outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research, and service. The department offers a variety of degree programs, including BA, BS, MA, MS, and PhD in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education. It currently offers over 100 sections of lower division mathematics courses per semester.
