Position Overview: The Department of Mathematics at Merrimack College invites applications for an open-ended fulltime, non-tenure-track position in mathematics at the rank of Assistant Instructional Professor starting in late August 2022. Responsibilities include teaching four introductory or foundational mathematics courses per semester (16 contact hours), usually for non-mathematics majors, and holding four scheduled office hours per week.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach students from a variety of disciplines, including majors in Engineering, Health Sciences, Education, Business, and the Liberal Arts. Teaching with innovative pedagogies is encouraged.

Qualifications:

Requirements for the position include:

● A Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a related field, and ● demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level. Also desired are: ● demonstrated excellence in teaching foundational mathematics courses at the college level; ● ability to use technology effectively in the classroom; ● demonstrated interest in and experience with innovative pedagogies; and ● experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in STEM and beyond.
