The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Southwestern University invites applications for Assistant Professor of Instruction in Statistics beginning August 2022. This position is a nine-month, non-tenure-track staff position with faculty rank. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered, but the degree must be completed by August 23, 2022. Southwestern seeks a dedicated teacher who can consistently demonstrate excellence in teaching while developing and executing a vision for the statistics and data science offerings at Southwestern. Typical teaching responsibilities include six courses per academic year, including multiple sections of the same course. In addition, this position requires some committee service, engagement in academic advising and retention initiatives, and a dedication to equity and inclusiveness.
