The Complex Chemical System Dynamics Initiative (CCSDi) currently is seeking a Chief Scientist with diversified scientific or engineering knowledge to provide senior leadership and research expertise. The CCSDi Chief Scientist will lead an interdisciplinary team focused on developing foundational science to predict and understand the temporal evolution of complex chemical systems in real-world environments. The Chief Scientist will oversee and manage CCSDi’s crosscutting Modeling, Measurement, and Integration research areas. The resulting research will facilitate providing an integrated, scientifically sound capability that links measurement and analysis, physics-based dynamic systems models, and applied mathematics to unveil new fundamental methods for describing the chemical processes that drive changes over time.

The potential candidate must demonstrate a substantial, successful research portfolio in numerical methods and capabilities in diverse applications areas, including chemical physics and complex chemical kinetics, semiconductor device physics and/or quantum computing, manufacturing process simulations, and integrated computational materials engineering (ICME). Candidate also must hold active or be eligible for U.S. Government security clearance.
