Bilkent University Department of Mathematics invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks, to start in September. A Ph.D. in mathematics and an excellent research record commensurate with the rank are required.The Department of Mathematics has broad research strengths across both pure and applied mathematics, with particularly strong activity in algebra, geometry, and analysis. Core areas include algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, number theory, group theory, topology, functional and operator analysis, harmonic analysis, and complex analysis. The department also maintains strong research activity in partial and ordinary differential equations, dynamical systems, and systems and control theory, alongside active work in mathematical physics, including quantum theory and statistical mechanics. Additional research areas span applied and interdisciplinary mathematics, including optimization and operations research, probability and stochastic processes, combinatorics, and applications to economics, biology, and information theory. Applications are welcomed from outstanding candidates in all areas of mathematics whose research complements or strengthens the department’s profile. Bilkent is a non-profit foundation university located at western suburbs of Ankara, the capital of Turkiye, with a beautiful campus and an international faculty. The language of teaching is English. The academic year consists of two semesters and the usual course load is two courses per semester.
