Trinity University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank in the department of mathematics to start in the fall semester of 2023. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field is required by September 2023. We will consider all fields of specialization, but preference will be given to candidates with data analysis skills who can make immediate contributions to the vibrant interdisciplinary culture of the department. Trinity’s mathematics department is currently engaged with interdisciplinary programs in mathematical finance, mathematical biology, and data analytics. The successful applicant will be expected to be an excellent teacher and mentor, pursue a vigorous research program, contribute to all levels of the mathematics curriculum, contribute to the University's general curriculum, and provide service to the department and University.

Applicants should submit the following via mathjobs.org: cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, research statement, diversity statement, and at least three confidential letters of recommendation with at least one addressing teaching. Trinity University embraces the teacher-scholar model, and candidates are encouraged to use their cover letter to speak to how they see themselves contributing to this model at Trinity; in addition, candidates should seek out letter writers who together can address their abilities and promise as teachers, researchers, and mentors. As Trinity University is committed to the value of intentional inclusion, your diversity statement (250-500 words) should describe any of your past efforts—as well as your future plans—to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in your teaching, research, or other professional activities. The deadline for receipt of applications is November 1, 2022.
