| The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of
Houston - Downtown is inviting applications for a position at the level of
Assistant Professor of Data Science to begin teaching in the academic
year of 2024-2025. A Ph.D. Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics,
Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related fields is required.
The successful applicant will be expected to be an
excellent instructor and mentor; being able to teach graduate courses
in Data Analytics or Statistics, or Mathematics as well as undergraduate
courses in Data Science, and Mathematics or Statistics.
- Ability to teach data analytics or statistics or mathematics courses at the
graduate level
- Ability to teach data science, and mathematics or statistics courses at
the undergraduate level
- Ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate student projects or other
high-impact activities
- Acknowledge of statistical software packages such as Python, R, and
SQL
- Ability and willingness to provide leadership in curriculum development
and professional service
- Research potential and plans for continuing research activity. |
