Washburn University's Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for the position of Lecturer beginning August 2017.  This position is a full-time 9-month, non-tenure track appointment as a Lecturer.  Salary range: $39,000 - $40,000. Washburn University is dedicated to the highest level of instruction.

Required qualifications:

  •     Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, or related field by date of hire, including at least 18 graduate hours in the mathematical sciences
  •     Experience and demonstrated success in teaching college-level mathematics and/or statistics

Preferred qualifications:

  •     Experience and demonstrated success in teaching college pre-calculus level courses
  •     Experience using technology in instruction
  •     Graduate course work in statistics
  •     Experience teaching introductory statistics at the college level
  •     Experience teaching online courses


  •     As part of a 12-credits-per-semester teaching load, the position comprises teaching a variety of pre-calculus level courses and/or introductory statistics courses
  •     Availability to teach an occasional evening class
  •     Teaching-related departmental service expected
  •     Maintaining on campus office hours
