| Tenure-track Assistant Professor position, preferably in applied mathematics, to begin Fall 2023.
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in mathematics, or a closely related field, at time of application, or ABD at time of application. If ABD, all doctoral degree requirements must be completed by June 15th of the first year of employment (e.g., for a September 2023 start date, all degree requirements must be completed by June 15, 2024). A record of outstanding undergraduate teaching in mathematics. Evidence of sustained productive scholarship in applied and/or pure mathematics. Demonstrated ability and commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds. Evidence of a flexible, positive, collegial attitude toward faculty and staff colleagues. Expertise in numerical analysis, dynamical systems, ordinary differential equations, mathematical modeling, applied probability or closely related areas. Interest or experience in teaching courses motivated by practical applications, broadly construed, at the 300-500 levels, such as those in differential equations, optimization, modeling, or numerical methods. Evidence of interest in and the ability to use student-centered approaches to foster active learning.
