JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor in Mathematics to begin in August 2023.

The candidate is expected to establish research activities in the area of Mathematical Analysis that involve undergraduate students and/or can take advantage of interdisciplinary collaborations with the newly developed computer science and data science programs, other colleagues in the natural sciences, or other disciplines outside the school (e.g. creative technologies, data analytics). In addition to a commitment to high quality teaching and scholarship, the successful candidate should also be an active participant in the campus community and interested in mentoring students in a residential college environment. The successful candidate will be supported in applying for Project NExT or other professional development programs.

The department is known for innovative pedagogy, collaborative projects, and mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds in a comprehensive college with a liberal arts core. The candidate should share our department's commitment to student engagement inside and outside of the classroom as well as our desire to promote opportunities for students from underrepresented groups. REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field and a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Applicants who are ABD should include documentation of that the requirements for the degree will be completed by August 2023.
