Position Description
- Teach undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, including courses offered to students in Science, Engineering and Technology disciplines. A typical teaching load is three courses per semester, but during the first two years of the appointment a reduced teaching load of two classes per semester can be anticipated, to provide time to establish a research program and develop courses. Faculty also may use funds from externally sponsored research programs to reduce their teaching loads. Subsequent course reductions may be available for faculty who are especially active in research and scholarship.
- Maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate students.
- Engage in professional or academic activities in campus-based, local, regional or broader communities in an effort to make a positive impact and advance the recognition and reputation of the College of Arts & Sciences and SUNY Poly.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (ABD Considered) in Mathematics or related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral experience.
- Experience or interest in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams that pursue external funding.
