Position Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Teaching a total of 24 credit hours in the academic year (fall and spring semesters)
- Teaching courses at the level of calculus and below, including developmental courses (below the level of college algebra) and introductory statistics
- Attending meetings for faculty at the department, college, and university levels
- Participating in mathematics departmental and university service activities
- Actively participating in college and university committees
- Contributing to the service needs of the department
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field OR a master’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field along with five years of teaching experience at the college level
- Official transcripts will be required of finalists; submission instructions will be provided to applicants as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching introductory statistics
- Experience teaching mathematics courses at levels ranging from pre-algebra to college algebra
- Experience teaching students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds
- Experience teaching students with documented disabilities in mathematics
Salary and FLSA Status:
- Salary: $56,500 - $59,500
- FLSA Status: Exempt 37.5 hours
