Position Details

The Department of Mathematics in The University of Tampa's College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track, annually renewable instructional faculty position for the academic year 2024-25.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 10,500 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a master's degree or Ph.D. in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, or other related fields. Candidates with a master's degree will be hired as Lecturer, while those holding the terminal degree will be hired as Assistant Teaching Professor. All candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, engaging students in learning beyond the classroom, and university service. The successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in teaching lower-level courses in Mathematics (Introductory Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Finite Mathematics, and Calculus for Business). The teaching load is four, 4-credit courses per semester. Faculty may have the opportunity to teach in the summer for additional compensation.
