The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Sciences seeks to fill this position by October 1, 2021. The junior professorship is untenured. The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy. The successful candidate is an acknowledged expert for the development and analysis of numerical methods for optimal control of partial differential equations. She or he actively collaborates within the department's core research area "Analysis and Numerics" and contributes to the teaching
duties of the department in the areas of numerics and optimization. Furthermore, engagement in interdisciplinary research collaborations will be
