Description
The School of
Mathematics at Nanjing University in China now have six tenure-track positions
available at assistant/associate professor level. The minimum
requirement is Ph.D. degree in any field of pure and applied mathematics. The
following directions should be primarily considered:
(1) Mathematical
Logic and Combinatorics
(2) Geometry
and Topology
(3) Analysis
or Applied analysis
(4) Scientific
computation and Optimizations
(5) Probability
and Statistics
(6) Algebra
and Number theory
(7)
Differential equations and Dynamical system
Nanjing
University is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in
China. The School of Mathematics, which used to be called Department of
Mathematics and was founded in 1921, has built up a high reputation around the
world and has been highly recognized for its outstanding contribution to the higher
education and its enormous influences in many areas of mathematical
researches.
The
organization of faculty members in the department is relatively relaxing and of
harmonious atmosphere. Many national level awards have been granted to the
faculty members recently, such as the Second National Prize of Natural
Sciences, Morningside Medals of Mathematics, etc., and almost all members are
Principal Investigators of one or more projects of the Natural Science
Foundation of China. The senior members enhance the reputation of Department,
but Department provides the considerably concerns and supports to junior
members.

Qualifications
• Applicants
should abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China with
enthusiasm of teaching and scientific research.
• Good
teaching ethics, adhere to academic ethics, diligent working performance are
required, with no criminal record or punishment record for violating teaching
ethics and academic ethics.
• Applicants
should have a PhD degree in Mathematics.
• Approved
candidates should have a verified record of excellent original research.
• Approved
candidates should be capable of teaching core courses at both postgraduate and
undergraduate levels.
• Demonstrated
capacity or potential for future innovation in research and teaching is
essential.
