THE COLLEGE OF INFORMATION AND MATHEMATICAL
SCIENCES at Clayton State University invites applications
for two tenure-track positions in Mathematics. The appointments will be at the rank
of Assistant professor, reporting to the Chair of the Mathematics Department,
to begin in Fall 2022. Salary will be commensurate with experience and
competitive with comparable programs. The position is contingent on funding. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related
field by the time of appointment is required. Candidates must have research
and/or industry experience in mathematics, statistics, and/or data analysis. The
successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the US at the time of
appointment. ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in college-level teaching is desired, along with knowledge of
technology applications in mathematics classrooms. Although candidates in all
mathematical fields are welcome to apply, candidates with expertise in
statistics, data analysis, and/or algebra are considered highly desirable. Candidates
with experience supervising undergraduate/graduate research projects,
curriculum development, writing and receiving grants, and/or working with a
highly diverse student body are considered highly desirable. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: Faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor or above in the
College of Information and Mathematical Sciences are required to teach courses
totaling 24 semester credit hours per academic year. Faculty members are
expected to take an active and collegial role in course and curriculum
development. Instructional responsibilities include both upper division
mathematics courses in support of the undergraduate mathematics program and
courses to support the general education requirements of Clayton State students.
