The Department of Mathematical Sciences of University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez was founded in 1942. We are part of The College of Arts and Science. The mission of the department is to develop competent professionals in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistic, Computer Science and Mathematical Education. Also, we want to provide services of excellence in courses of mathematics and fields related to diverse academic programs in the campus, particularly those of Engineering and Sciences.
