The Department of Mathematics at Emory University seeks to fill multiple positions in its Emory Research/Teaching Fellows program. Appointments are normally for two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The maximum teaching load is two courses per semester with the possibility of a reduction. Positions are subject to the availability of funds. 

Applicants must have (or soon receive) a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field and show evidence or promise of excellence in teaching and research.

    Emory Research/Teaching Fellows are expected to collaborate with their faculty mentors within specific research areas. Applicants must specify one of the following research areas in their cover letter. 

    • Numerical Analysis & Scientific Computing: all sub-areas; applicants with experience and interest in machine learning, deep neural networks, reinforcement learning, and active learning are preferred. 
    • Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Arithmetic Geometry, and Number Theory: all sub-areas 
    • Analysis and PDEs: all sub-areas
