The Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor to begin August 2022. This position is open to candidates in any area of statistics, data science, and/or probability. A Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field is required. Demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research is required. More experienced candidates may be eligible to receive prior service credit toward promotion and tenure, as appropriate.

The Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics offers a stimulating and nurturing academic environment. The faculty are involved in theoretical, methodological, and interdisciplinary research. They direct research programs across a broad range of areas, including bioinformatics, computational statistics, nonparametric methods, applied probability, and high-dimensional inference. The Department annually enrolls over 50 supported graduate students pursuing PhD and master’s degrees in Statistics, specializing in mathematical statistics or biostatistics tracks.
