Position Description:    

The Daniels School of Business at Purdue University invites applications for two clinical faculty positions (non-tenure track but promotable to higher rank) in the Quantitative Methods area to begin in the fall semester of 2024.

The incumbents’ responsibilities will include a subset of the following: • Developing instructional materials, teaching and coordinating data and analytics-related undergraduate courses, such as Business Statistics, Management Science, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Advanced Spreadsheet Modeling, Statistical Quality Control, etc. • Developing and supervising experiential learning courses or projects for the BAIM (Business Analytics & Information Management) program students. Representing the Quantitative Methods area in the school’s existing program management and new program development. • Developing and teaching quantitative methods courses for residential master’s programs, weekend MBA program, online MBA program, and online master’s BAIM program. • Engaging in academic and business venues to follow, collaborate, and adapt the latest developments in business analytics for keeping course curriculums up to date.

These responsibilities are reflected in the requirements of, for an academic year, 18 credit hours of course teaching (equivalent to 6 undergraduate sections or 9 master’s sections) and 9 credit hours of service contributing to the administration, operation, and development of the Daniels School of Business, Purdue, and their profession; and proactive engagement with people and organizations beyond the academic community that are relevant to the faculty member’s discipline. Minimum requirements • A Ph.D. or M.A./M.S. in Quantitative Methods or related field with demonstrated teaching experience at the college level is required by the start date. • Documentation of teaching effectiveness such as through student course reviews. • Documentation of the development and/or organization of experiential learning projects and events.

This position will require regular communication with students and various stakeholders on program development.
