Position Description

The MPI-CBG invites applications for: 
Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied and Computational Mathematics

Postdocs joining this new mathematics department in the Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD) will develop mathematics with the view to solve open problems in the life sciences. We collaborate with nearby experimental groups within the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), enabling interactions with biologists for maximal scientific impact. We are committed to curiosity-driven fundamental research and to transferring concepts and structures from mathematics into biological sciences.

Successful candidates should be willing to closely collaborate with at least one of the research groups of the institute. 

The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and the adjacent Center for Systems Biology Dresden are basic research institutes that pursue a mission to advance multiscale biological discovery through innovative and cutting-edge mathematics, physics, and computation. Your qualifications:

A university and a PhD degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is required. Previous experience and a strong track record in the fields listed above will be considered positively.
