The PhD Program in Mathematics at the CUNY Graduate Center invites applications for a prestigious, open-field open-rank faculty appointment supported by the Simons Empire Faculty Fellows program with a required start date of August 2026. This is a research-intensive, graduate-only position with strong institutional backing and the opportunity to help shape the intellectual life of our program. We seek a mathematician with a well-established research record or whose work shows exceptional promise. We are particularly interested in early-career candidates on a steep upward trajectory who will pair research excellence with active mentoring and community leadership. Duties include but are not limited to: - Teaching and mentoring: graduate courses; graduate advising; active participation in seminars and reading groups; regular in-person engagement at the Graduate Center. - Research: Pursue an internationally visible research agenda, individually and/or collaboratively, with robust institutional support. - Support: Additional support via the Simons Empire Faculty Fellows program; further start-up/research resources may be available QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
