Position Overview: The Akian College of Science and Engineering’s master’s program in industrial engineering and systems management at the American University of Armenia (AUA) (https://cse.aua.am/iesm-home/) invites applications for a visiting faculty position, starting in July 2026. The visiting faculty members at AUA are expected to teach one or two courses per semester, engage in the program, and pursue an active research agenda during the visiting time. We seek a visiting faculty who will contribute to our vibrant academic community through teaching, mentoring, and innovative research. This position is ideal for scholars on sabbatical leave, Fulbright fellows, or others seeking a visiting appointment for one semester, a year, or longer.

Responsibilities:

1)Teach courses in the master’s program in industrial engineering and systems management program, including operations research, operations management, supply chain management, quality assurance and management, etc., 2)Contribute to curricular and programmatic developments, 3)Engage in research that contributes to the fields of industrial engineering and systems management, and publish findings in reputable journals, 4)Mentor students in their academic and research pursuits, including capstone project and thesis supervision and independent studies, 5)Participate in program, college, and university service activities, 6)Explore opportunities to teach general education courses, 7)Perform other duties assigned by the Program Chair(s) and/or Dean.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a professorship at a U.S. or European university in industrial engineering, systems management, or a closely related discipline. We seek candidates capable of teaching and research within the area of industrial engineering. Candidates with research experience, systems management and a closely related discipline.

Requirements for this position include:

1)PhD degree in industrial engineering or related area, 2)Hold a professorship at a U.S. or European university in industrial engineering, systems management, or a closely related discipline, 3)Documented experience in supervision, including thesis/capstone projects, 4)Documented experience in applying for research funding.

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with the university-wide pay scale and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
