The Center for Applied Mathematics (CAM) at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) invites applications for full-time faculty positions at all ranks. We seek outstanding researchers with strong mathematical foundations and a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary research. 

CAM-SWUFE is a university-level research center dedicated to advancing applied, computational, and interdisciplinary mathematics, with a particular focus on mathematical problems arising from the natural and social sciences. CAM’s mission is to develop rigorous mathematical theory, innovative modeling frameworks, and advanced computational methods motivated by real-world challenges, bridging continuous and discrete models, deterministic and stochastic systems, and theory-driven and data-driven approaches, while connecting deep analytical foundations with impactful applications. Serving as a central research hub, CAM brings together faculty from mathematics and related disciplines and fosters close collaboration with researchers in economics, finance, statistics, computer science, and allied fields, promoting integration across traditional departmental boundaries. Operating under the general academic policies of SWUFE, CAM maintains center-specific governance and academic expectations designed to support research excellence, international collaboration, and the long-term development of applied mathematics at the university. 

Applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply (areas include but are not limited to): 

• Partial differential equations (analysis and numerical methods) 

• Probability theory, stochastic processes, and stochastic control 

• Optimization, optimal control, and game theory 

• Inverse problems and data-driven modeling 

• Mathematical finance and quantitative economics 

• Financial technology, blockchain technologies, digital currencies 

• Scientific machine learning and AI-inspired mathematical methods.

Interdisciplinary research that links mathematics with finance, economics, digital economy, financial technology, blockchain, and digital currency systems is especially welcome.
