The Amherst College Department of Statistics (https://www.amherst.edu/academiclife/departments/statistics) invites applications for a full-time two-year visiting assistant professor appointment in statistics beginning July 1, 2026, and continuing through the end of the spring 2028 semester (with possibility of renewal for one additional year subject to college review). The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $70,000 to $110,000. The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations. The position requires a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or related field. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching of statistics and data science at the undergraduate level, may advise honors theses, and will contribute to the life of the department. The teaching load is two courses per semester.
