Position Summary: The individual will teach a range of courses offered by the Mathematical Sciences Department, including general education courses and foundational courses; participate in department, college, and community service in matters appropriate to the position; advise and mentor students majoring in programs offered by Mathematical Sciences. Ability to collaborate across departmental subdisciplines in both teaching and research. Department has an interest in candidates who are willing to teach undergraduate probability and statistics. Essential Job Functions: · Teach a range of courses offered by the Mathematical Sciences Department, including general education courses and foundational courses. · Advise students majoring in programs offered by Mathematical Sciences. · Engage in scholarly research and professional activities. · Participate in required College and Departmental activities and service. Occasional Job Functions: · Teach other courses as appropriate. · Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics, conferred by August 15, 2026. PREFERRED: College teaching experience Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: · Must possess effective technical, oral and written communications and management/organizational skills. · Must possess the ability to work with students and colleagues. · Willingness to serve in a faculty leadership role as part of the RIC shared governance model following awarding of tenure.· Experience with non-traditional students and a diverse student population.
