Position Description

Postdoc in Nonlinear PDEs and Free Boundary Problems

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Sciences

Job description

The research group led by Henrik Shahgholian focuses on the analysis of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Free Boundary Problems. The overarching goal of the project is to investigate the regularity of solutions and the geometry of free boundaries in various physical and geometric contexts. The successful applicant will work on cutting-edge problems in the field, including but not limited to:

• Regularity theory for elliptic and parabolic PDEs.

• The analysis of free boundary problems (e.g., obstacle-type problems, phase transitions, constraint maps, inverse scattering problems).

• Geometric and qualitative analysis of solutions to semilinear problems.

• Applications of PDE theory to a variety of problems.

•Take active part in organizing seminars in Nonlinear PDEs.

The candidate will be part of a vibrant and diverse research environment at KTH, benefiting from a strong tradition in analysis and close proximity to the Mittag-Leffler Institute and other major research hubs in the Stockholm area. Up to 20% of the position may include teaching or supervision duties.
