Salary: • Lecturer: £60,762 to £68,987 per annum • Senior Lecturer: £66,130 - £68,987 per annum

Job Summary:

Imperial College’s Department of Mathematics aims to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Mathematical Finance and Statistics starting in October 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Mathematical Finance and Statistics Sections at Imperial conduct internationally excellent research across a broad range of areas of stochastic analysis, applied probability, statistics, machine learning, optimal control, and applications to finance. Duties & Responsibilities

The post holder will work in the field of Mathematical Finance and Statistics, broadly interpreted, and will undertake a self-directed program of internationally excellent research and scholarship. We expect the new hire to be able to teach at the Undergraduate and Masters level and to supervise high-quality PhD students, in addition to managing staff such as Research Associates. Successful candidates will promote the reputation of the Department of Mathematics through scientific meetings, scholarship, and other outwardly-facing activities.

Essential Requirements

• A PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics or a closely related field • Research interests in Mathematical Finance and Statistics • Proven abilities to conduct a personal research programme at the highest level and to attract competitive research funding (desirable) • Strong leadership potential • Experience of collaborative research (desirable) • Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
