Research Associate

Salary Range: £33,860 - £42,830 per annum
(Maximum salary on appointment is £35,640 per annum)

Fixed Term for: 24 Months
Starting Date: 1 October 2016 or a later date by negotiation

Applications are invited for a 2 year Research Associate position in Pure Mathematics, beginning 1 October 2016.

Candidates should have a PhD in Mathematics, or an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience. Candidates should also have a clear research track record in number theory, ideally in the Langlands program or a related area and clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research.

The successful candidate should be an independent and creative scientist with a good publication record that includes papers in a peer reviewed journal. Expertise in the representation theory of p-adic groups (particularly as it pertains to the Langlands program) is desirable, as is geometric representation theory and a broad familiarity with the geometric Langlands program.
