Georgia State University invites applications for an Open Rank tenure-track position, in the area of mathematical modeling and/or big data analysis in systems biology, beginning August 2018. Candidates should have a strong background in mathematical modeling and data analysis. We are particularly interested candidates in biomedical and infectious disease related fields. A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Bioinformatics, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related area is required. Preference will be given to those candidates who have a strong record of independent or collaborative research and teaching, and extramural funding. The Georgia State University has a significant strength in biomedical sciences, particularly in infectious disease, microbial pathogenesis, inflammation and immunity. We expect the successful candidates to be able to work with a team of faculty members from Mathematics and Statistics, Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS), Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Neuroscience Institute and/or Center for Diagnostics and Therapeutics (CDT), synergistically advance biomedical science research at GSU.
