Position Description

Overview:

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the area of Quantum Mathematics, with a starting date of July 1, 2026. This appointment will be from July 1, 2026 until June 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, contingent on performance and funding availability.  This position does not include startup funding.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated research expertise in mathematics related to quantum physics, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, quantum aspects of algebra, geometry and probability and quantum computing.

 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to further develop their independent research program and collaborate with faculty and undergraduate and graduate students working in areas related to quantum mathematics. The successful candidate will teach two courses per academic year.
