The Baruch College Department of Mathematics invites applications for up to four anticipated Lecturer positions (Doctoral Schedule) beginning on or about August 24, 2022. 

The department offers undergraduate majors in mathematics, financial mathematics, and actuarial science. The position will include both administrative and instructional responsibilities, including the teaching of college level freshman and sophomore classes, student advisement; course development; participation in Baruch’s Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop and CUNY’s Innovative Teaching Academy. It is expected that applicants have demonstrated effectiveness in at least two of the three modalities of in-person, hybrid, and online teaching. Thought leadership in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), especially as it relates to mathematics, is encouraged.

Baruch is one of the City University of New York’s senior colleges, housing the Zicklin School of Business, the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, and the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. It has over 18,000 undergraduate and graduate students in its three schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or equivalent, college level teaching experience; demonstrated involvement in curriculum development and experience developing innovative learning materials; demonstrated innovation in the classroom, and implementation of creative and engaging teaching strategies, such as the “flipped classroom,” hybrid and online courses.
