Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.

- Develops research plans and proposals and participates in acquiring funding

- Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data

- Writes progress reports; writes and publishes findings

- Collaborates with internal and external colleagues

- Adheres to standards for safety and hygiene and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties




The Graduate Center (GC) is the principal doctorate-granting institution of the City University of New York (CUNY). Offering more than thirty doctoral degrees from Anthropology to Urban Education, and fostering globally significant research in a wide variety of centers and institutes, the GC provides academic training in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The Graduate Center is also integral to the intellectual and cultural vitality of New York City. Through its extensive public programs, The Graduate Center hosts a wide range of events - lectures, conferences, book discussions, art exhibits, concerts, and dance and theater that enrich and inform.

The Ph.D. Program in Mathematics at the GC is a crossroads for the many research mathematicians working in the City University of New York, as well as a place for doctoral students to gain the background they will need to pursue careers in mathematics. The Program seeks a Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate to begin in Fall 2018 for a term of two years.

The successful candidate will take part in research activities of the program and will also teach one course per year at a CUNY undergraduate campus as an Adjunct Professor. Further information about the Ph.D. Program in Mathematics at the GC can be found at:


Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.


Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics awarded prior to July 1, 2018 and show outstanding research potential.


Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
