Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University (Prague) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Number Theory. The position will be funded by Dr. Kala's project "UFOCLAN: Universal Quadratic Forms and Class Numbers" awarded by the Czech Science Foundation. Knowledge of Czech is not necessary; teaching is negotiable, but will typically consist of one advanced course (in number theory or related area, taught in English) per semester. Due to restrictions of the grant agency, applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the last 8 years (exceptions are possible in cases of parental leave and long-term sickness). The expected duration of the position is June 1, 2021 - August 31, 2023 (negotiable). The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University is the leading institution in mathematics in Czechia, with highly motivated and well educated students in our mathematics programs. The School of Mathematics has about 110 academic positions, covering most of the major areas of mathematics. The Department of Algebra, where the position will be hosted, offers an open minded international environment, with outstanding conditions for independent research.
