Lecturer in Financial Mathematics

£34,805 - £52,560 pa (pro rata)

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the area of Financial Mathematics to invigorate its research and teaching profile. Expansion in this field is of strategic importance to the University and as such there is major investment behind its Institute for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics. You should have a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or Financial Mathematics and excellent research achievements in Financial Mathematics or related fields including frequent publications in internationally recognised journals. You should have experience of teaching both small and large groups of students, student supervision and curriculum development. You will play a part in the development of the institute through extending existing research networks within the University, building new networks nationally and internationally and contributing to the development of the institutes' role within the region. We encourage applications from mathematicians working in any field of Financial Mathematics. However, exceptional individuals with an excellent track record of research in other mathematical areas related to actuarial/financial problems will also be considered.
