Boston College Department of Mathematics Full-time, Non-Tenure-Track Position

The Mathematics Department at Boston College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of the Practice of Mathematics.  This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position with a three-year renewable contract, to begin in the 2021 fall semester. The teaching load is 6 semester courses per year. Our priority is to hire an outstanding teacher, qualified to teach courses at both the lower-division and upper-division levels. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in Applied Mathematics and Data Science.

Requirements include a Ph.D. or equivalent in mathematics, and demonstrated excellence in teaching mathematics. A completed application should contain a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement which includes a description of specific ways in which the candidate could enhance our undergraduate program, and at least four letters of recommendation. Three or more of the letters of recommendation should primarily deal with the candidate's teaching.
