Postdoctoral Scholar-Methods for quantum many-body systems-Department of Mathematics The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for two Postdoctoral Scholars supervised by Professor Lin Lin to participate in the development of new methods for simulating quantum many-body systems. There is flexibility in the detailed topics, and the positions are supported by the Simons Foundation. The projects involve collaboration with mathematicians, physicists, chemists, and computer scientists at Caltech, Flatiron, Harvard, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Paris Tech, U Minnesota, U Texas, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to make extended visits to other collaboration sites, to contribute to joint research activities, and to participate in collaboration workshops and summer schools. After one year of full-time research, upon satisfactory performance evaluations and subject to availability of funds, the position can be renewed for two more years. In this case, there will be two options: For this option, the postdoc will need to apply to the lecturer pool. Should a postdoc apply for and be appointed to a teaching position, the percent time of the Postdoctoral Scholar appointment will be reduced so that the sum of the percent times of the two appointments equals one-hundred percent (100%) To apply, visit https://aprecruit.berkeley.edu/JPF03226 Copyright ©2021 Jobelephant.com Inc.
